Laurel studied theatre at York University, screenwriting at George Brown College, and sketchwriting at Second City Toronto. Her plays have been featured on stages across Ontario, including Theatre Passe Muraille and The Arts Project. Laurel is a prolific and ambitious creator who has written seven short films that have been recognized by half a dozen film festivals, including the LA Comedy Festival, the Portland Comedy Film Festival, and The Great Canadian Comedy Film Festival.
